Do all great comebacks come from cheating?

Sports are something that have become important in this country, with the super bowl being the most watched show ever year. With the popularity of watching sports on TV growing yearly, the speculation of certain athletes drug use has hit the spot light. The media seems to pick and choose what we see about certain athletes. Innocent until proven guilty goes a long way for athletes.

Fans are finding it harder to believe that when an athlete comes back from an injury and plays better than before that they cheated. The reason for this belief is because of the times that it has turned out to be true. Speculation arises in positive and negative ways for these athletes like Ray Lewis and Adrian Peterson. With no proof does it really do anyone good to speculate his talents.

I think its sad that athletes have used PEDs because its has ruined traditional sports where the athlete  that worked the hardest gets the win. It has made athletes that have true talent and work hard to make incredible comebacks become a topic of discussion in the media.  I really don’t think there will ever be a way to get all drugs out of sports, and no way of ever knowing who past or present used PEDs to advance in their sport.

  1. I definitely see where you are coming from with the athletes seem to get a lot farther with the innocent until proven guilty. And it is a shame that now a days we have to question if an athlete’s awesome performance is true talent or from performance enhancing drugs.

If the use of PEDs was going to stop it would have already ended. The fact is that they’re readily available and “everyone is doing it”. I truly believe that a handful of the best athletes don’t use performance enhancing drugs, but everyone will continue to use drugs that mask injuries, which I think is more of a problem today. No matter what athletes do the public will continue to root them on and view them as role models. I agree with your post and it is well-written.
