Oklahoma is in the south. Well I have always thought so anyway. It is in the Fox Southwest broadcast for sports, the AP Style book also considers the proper way to identify Oklahoma is as a southern state. I do think there could be a region called the Deep South, which is states in the south eastern part of the U.S.

This article takes a good look at what region people consider Oklahoma to be in and the arguments most people bring up. Growing up in Oklahoma and Texas, I know there is no clear answer to what region Oklahoma should be considered part of. I have always thought that Oklahoma and Texas shared common interests and similar beliefs. If Texas is considered a southern state then Oklahoma would also have to fall into this classification. This is the only region that Oklahoma could ever fit it.
